You can easily remove and add Gmail chat box from left side of your your Gmail account .To do this Go to your Gmail Settings page, switch to the Chat tab, choose “Chat Off” and click the “Save Changes” button.
Follow same steps to again add chat box in your gmail email,This time select Chat on to enable chat in your gmail account.
